Ceramics has many facets from slip molded copies of cartoon characters to hand-formed wood fired ware by master ceramic artists.  Ceramic workshops therefore have a similar range of possibilities.  Some emphasize product others process.  Those that emphasize product outline steps that lead you to a certain end product.  The end result may be pleasing but the steps are dictated and will never lead to art.  Only true honest ceramic processes passed down from generation to generation can ultimately lead you to art.     

We taught ceramics for may years and at all levels, and have studied with masters from three lands - Japan, Korea and the United States.  During our many research trips to Korea, we continue to learn new strategies and processes little known in the West.    Korean ceramic processes are honest and natural.  They have evolved over a period of at least 5000 years and simply work.  If you want to consider the possibility of improving your abilities to handle clay, or if you want to learn ceramic handling strategies that work in the classroom at any level, register for one of our workshops.  You may be surprised at what you didn’t know.  We were.
