Arriving Early

Some of you are scheduled to arrive early on Aug. 5 and /or have decided to stay in Korea longer. This page will provide you with some choices to help you plan your extra day.
We can make a reservation for you at a hotel at a reduced rate and you have some options.
If you arrive August 5, you have two options.
Each choice requires you to decide what you want to do on your extra day. If you Google Incheon for “art”, you are directed either to art that is in Seoul or the World Ceramic Art in Icheon. (Note: no “n” in Icheon, it’s a different city). There is a day tour from Incheon to the DMZ that we can arrange for you or you could rest at the hotel and just look around Incheon on your own. Alternatively:
Option 1: Room at the same hotel where you will stay August 6 (In Incheon)
You could then take a hotel bus from the airport to Seoul to a hotel near Insadong one of Seoul’s most easily explored art areas that is also near Gyeongbok Palace and the National Korean Folk Museum. There is much to explore in and near Insadong. While our tour will take you there and we will stay at a hotel near there, it is possible to spend a month in and near Insadong and not see it all. So an extra day there is recommended. Then you would have to return to Incheon in the evening of August 6 by the same hotel bus to the airport and then get a ride to the hotel. The bus costs about $15 USD.
Option 2: Room in Seoul August 5 near the art area of Insadong. Upon arrival at the airport, you would go to Seoul, by hotel bus, and stay at a hotel near Insadong. Then on the evening of August 6 you would travel by hotel bus to the Airport and get a ride to the Incheon hotel. This would give you more time in Seoul where the are more options for food and exploring.
We will be in Seoul at the Somerset Palace Seoul near Insadong. We could meet there possibly for breakfast and an introduction to the area.
Your arrival time may determine your decision. Some of you arrive as early as 5:50 am on August 5 and others as late as 2:25 am on the might of the 5th morning of the 6th.
Hotel Options and Approximate Price
We do not have the hotel in Incheon identified and may not have it for some time as it will be selected by Gangjin. The price will be reasonable. My guess is the price will be between $50 and $80 USD per night and possibly less than some hotels in Seoul. We will be in Seoul at the Somerset Palace Seoul near Insadong. We could meet there for an introduction to the area.

There are several options for hotels in Seoul at widely varying prices. Consider these also if you are leaving after Aug 21. These are listed in price order.
