This brown woodfired teabowl is one of my favorite bowls.  Its shape and feel are according to Korean standards.  It is humble, unpretentious and natural - a true servant.   The thin classic shino glaze is complemented by the natural ash deposits on the surface.  It is perfect for daily tea,  and is one of a kind.

     Thrown on a slow wheel, it moves in its stillness.  Its color complements the macha beautifully.  This bowl is particularly comfortable to hold. 

      It was glazed, using personal glazing techniques, with a classic shino glaze fired with wood.
