This makes a great holiday gift & is a really good hot chocolate. We mix it up at Christmas, bottle it in jars & give it as presents. The friends & family start asking about it around November, they can’t wait.

These are so easy to make, you'll want them all of the time. They are soft but very crumbly & go great with a glass of milk.

Mix everything, form into 2" balls, put them on a greased cookie sheet, press them down with a fork dipped in sugar, bake at 350 for 12 min. Pull them out while they are still a little bit soft, they will firm up.

What could be easier.

This is about the perfect way to cook bratwurst, the flavor from the grill & the beer is wonderful. Once you do them this way you won't want to do it any other. I was taught this recipe by a guy I worked with named George. We used to get the service & parts dept. together once every few weeks to grill these at work.

Fire up the grill. Get a small foil pan & put the butter, garlic & onion in it. Put it on the grill. Put the brats on the grill & get them cooking.
Stir the onion mixture until the onions are tender, & the brats are fully cooked. Put the cooked brats in the pan, add the beer, give it a stir & cook with the lid closed for a half hour to an hour (if you can wait).
Put it on a toasted bun with spicy mustard & some of those onions & it's heaven.
As a kid we used to snap green beans & mom would cook them with new potatoes with a big chunk of ham. That was a meal by itself! I came up with this way to do it that is a little more convenient. While it is not as good as using the fresh beans & simmering them all day, this one works pretty good.
Heat the oil in a pan, cook the onions, jalapeno peppers & garlic for about a minute. Add the potatoes & continue to cook until the potatoes get a little brown ( you can throw in the bacon now)

Add about 1/2 cup of hot water & DE-glaze the pan. Add the green beans (water & all), season to taste & simmer on low for about half an hour. Very good side dish & not a lot of calories, either.

These are really simple to make, taste Ohhh so good, & are completely addictive. Oh, I for got to mention that they are absolutely bad for you.

Mix the powdered sugar, margarine & milk until it is smooth, that’s your simple basic icing.
Heat the oil up to 350 & place the biscuits in. Cook them until they are golden brown. Flip them & cook the other side. Place them on a paper towel to get some of the excess oil off. When they have cooled for about 5 min, you can dip them in the icing & enjoy them with a glass of milk. I also like to leave off the icing & dip them in honey.

This was not my moms invention, they used to teach it to kids in home economics class, long ago. It is simple but feels like something fancy. Plus it is one of those good memories from my childhood, & I made it for my son on occasion.
Heat the milk. Brown the margarine in a saucepan, add the flour, salt, and pepper, and mix well. Then add the hot milk and stir until the sauce thickens. Chop the whites of the hard-cooked eggs into small pieces, and mix them with the white sauce. Arrange the toast on a plate and pour the sauce over it. Crush the egg yolks and sprinkle them on top of the white sauce. Serve hot.
