    <richText>&lt;i&gt;As a kid we used to snap green beans &amp; mom would cook them with new potatoes with a big chunk of ham. That was a meal by itself! I came up with this way to do it that is a little more convenient. While it is not as good as using the fresh beans &amp; simmering them all day, this one works pretty good.&#xD;&lt;/i&gt;Heat the oil in a pan, cook the onions,&#xA0; jalapeno peppers &amp; garlic for about a minute. Add the potatoes &amp; continue to cook until the potatoes get a little brown ( you can throw in the bacon now)&#xD;&#xA0;&#xD;Add about 1/2 cup of hot water &amp; DE-glaze the pan. Add the green beans (water &amp; all), season to taste &amp; simmer on low for about half an hour. Very good side dish &amp; not a lot of calories, either.&#xD;&#xA0;&#xD;</richText>
