Label Colors

I set up the label colors for different folder/file types. Then  I know what the folders are for at a glance.

Finder/Preferences (Labels) tab. Just type in the names here, then right click a file or folder & select the appropriate color.

Important   Files that are important or necessary

Other         Non Specific, normally not used

Shared       Shared with others

Unused       Files you don’t normally need to use

Personal     Your data & files you regularly use

Private       Files that are only for you to view/edit

System      Files used by the computer.

Sidebar Structure

These are the folders I have on my finder sidebar

"Home" folder   Main location where all your stuff is stored

Applications   All of the programs on your Mac

Documents   Your documents that you can view/edit

Movies   Movies, Videos, & movie projects

Music   Music, sound files, & iTunes folder

Pictures   Pictures, clip art, backgrounds, & iPhoto folder

Sites   Web sites you edit

Documents Folder
