Going green on a white winter’s day.

Maybe it was the clean white slate of a winter’s day that finally made me see a way to get colorful with my dreams.
Or maybe the opportunity to be even a small part in a fab new shop in Burlington, VT was just the push I needed to get my rusty mind and green thumbs working again.
The Green Life offers a whole range of eco-friendly and organic products and as of this weekend, they now feature wee gardens as well. We went with the new life reuse concept and planted in a rustic sewing table and vintage child’s wagon. Better that these pieces become living gardens rather than be thrown in some dirty sink hole somewhere. Thank goodness for the inspired thinking of The Green Life’s owners, Shannon and Mike. Big dreams, like yours, help us all grow a little.

I know I brought along my gloves and my spade.

But yet, is there really progress being made?

My search for rhyme and reason has led me to the fact...

I’ve moved across country and my heart is still packed.

wait...I see the tiniest sprout...open the lid and let love out!

A Beach To Go!

With summer’s end quickly approaching, it might be time to gather up more than just memories. A handy bucket, basket or tray can make the beach easy to carry away!
We’ve captured the shores of Lake Champlain in an antique metal trough by gathering up some natural elements and combining them with a lazy day trinket or two. Now we have a wee reminder of our favorite beach, Noblewood. Home we go with the spirit of scattered pitch pine and silver maple spilling over sparkling black magnetite sand....Leftovers anyone?

I really can’t say what inspires me to pour a bit of dirt into a dainty china cup and flavor it with cheddar pinks and a golden watering can...guess it’s just my cup of tea.

Peek into the window at The Gilded Cage and you’ll see plenty of love. My Mother, Barbara Page, and I were offered the opportunity to share our talents this month in Vermont for The Middlebury Arts Walk. We jumped at the chance to put our great minds and green thumbs together to create a mix of garden paintings and miniature designs. Our passion for art & nature has intertwined like flowers spreading wild and hearts that will forever be true. Thank you Cindy for giving us the space to grow!
