Research Associate status indicates involvement in a well defined undertaking such “Project Phase One. Aquinas and the Arabs: The Early Writings,” with Professors Houser, López-Farjeat, and Taylor.  (See http://web.mac.com/mistertea/Aquinas_%26_the_Arabs/Project_Phase_One.html.)  Membership involves a positive effort to contribute in diverse ways to the understanding of the influence and importance of the Arabic tradition to the thought of Aquinas through articles, seminars, and the like. This also entails an interest in assisting other AAP International Working Group  members with critical comments on translations and studies.  The status of Affiliate indicates an interest in actively discussing philosophical and theological issues with Project members as they carry out their work. The status of Consultant entails an interest in offering occasional comments and advice on parts of the AAP International Working Group and its direction. While much of this shared work will be done via the Internet using various available and developing technologies such as Skype, file sharing, shared websites and working space, and other technology, the AAP International Working Group will hold regular research meetings and conferences as well.
