Welcome to the student site for the TEXT Project, an oral-history program directed by Professor Sidney Burris and Geshe Dorjee at the University of Arkansas. Here you will find all of the information that you need to participate in this extraordinary project of cultural preservation.  Until we secure funding for a full online archive, we are building a provisional site that you can view here.

The TEXT Project travels to India every other summer, on the odd-numbered years.  We use the intervening summers to catalogue the interviews that we gather while in India.  Our next trip is in summer 2011.  The course is offered as a regular six-week summer school course for six hours credit.  Three weeks are spent on campus preparing for the trip, and three weeks are spent in India.  Get involved now!  We need your help as we continue this important project.
