Denise Okuda served on the Star Trek production team as video supervisor and graphic artist on Enterprise, Deep Space Nine, Voyager, and four Star Trek films. Her other credits include Threshold, The Flash, and Warlord: Battle for the Galaxy. Denise is a member of the Art Directors Guild and has served as a producer for CBS on the 2006 project to remaster the visual effects for the original Star Trek series. She was a creative consultant on Buckaroo Banzai: Ancient Secrets & New Mysteries, an unproduced pilot.
Taking advantage of her experience as a Registered Nurse, Denise has served as a medical consultant to Star Trek’s writing staff. Along with her husband, Michael, Denise has also written supplemental material on numerous DVD and Blu-ray releases for Paramount Home Video. Denise and Mike also wrote the Star Trek Encyclopedia and the Star Trek Chronology for Pocket Books. One of their latest writing projects is the “Galaxy Quest Galactopedia,” a tongue-in-cheek text commentary for the new Blu-ray release of the popular sci-fi parody.
Denise holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Mount St. Mary’s College in Los Angeles. She volunteers her time with animal-assisted therapy and is an ardent fan of the National Football League.
