Racists, Bigots, Religious extremists of any persuasion, Cruelty, Snobbery and anyone who believes we should live our lives like them. Marmite, Sprouts, Parsnips and Meat eating. Soul Music and the Mersey sound. Celebrity culture, Big Brother.
Festivals. From the Windsor Great Park free festivals of the sixties to the Cambridge Folk Festivals, through Sidmouth to Glastonbury. Many good memories here in the company of family and friends, great music and in the case of Glastonbury some rather surreal experiences. The festival with the best backdrop was on a cliff top on Exmoor at Trentishoe, North Devon. Memorable festival gigs, Little feat at the Bath festival, Lonnie Donegan at Sidmouth, Lamb on the Jazz Stage and David Bowie on the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury.

Camping. With or without a tent, with family and friends or on my own, whether at a Festival, a Campsite or spending a few days on the river bank fishing, just to get away from normality for a while. To be snug, warm and dry in a tent while a fall on thunder storm is raging overhead is an experience not to be missed, as is waking up to a magnificent view on a warm summers day. Two of my favourite sites are on the cliff tops at Mortehoe near Woolacombe, with a view across the Seven Estuary to Wales and Holland Wood in the New Forest.
Carrom. An ancient board game from India, the forerunner of games like Billiards and Snooker and played all over the world where Indians have settled. I played for many years and ran a Carrom club at the Six Bells in Chiddingly, I used to play every weekend in Covent Garden where I had the chance to play some of the best players in the country. I also played as a seeded player in the English finals and took fifth place one year. I am lucky enough to own a Carrom board made of Elm specially made for me by Richiard White from Make Believe, makers of the finest Carrom boards in the country.
Events.
The Jack in the Green Festival on the May bank holiday Monday afternoon in Hastings Castle, Morris dancers, great costumes, climaxing with the drumming down and destruction of the Jack to release the spirit of Summer, also the Motorbike rally in the town.
Burning of the Clocks in Brighton celebrating the Winter solstice on the weekend before Christmas. An evening parade through the town with people carrying lit paper lanterns of all shapes and sizes with drummers and dancers, the parade ends in Madeira Drive where the lanterns are piled on the beach and burned in a huge bonfire culminating in a firework display.
Animals. Love em, Lost my two dogs earlier this year and now have a white Border Collie puppy and two Cats.
