Our current projects and interests include: the evolution of diet breadth in butterflies; the use of anthropogenic habitats by animals; the genetic architecture of hybrid speciation; the phylogeography of Great Basin plants and animals; and invertebrate conservation.

We are using “bug” in the colloquial sense to mean insects in general, and to reflect our broad interest in and fondness for the little things that comprise the majority of multicellular life on Earth.  However, our research is in no way limited to insects, and prospective students should feel free to contact me (link below) about research in any area of ecology or evolution.
