Peace and Carrots
Peace and Carrots
...and I count 2,198 of them. That’s how many signatures the Peta2 crew was able to get on its petition for more vegetarian dining options on campus! So shocked to hear the good news. This happened on a campus where students routinely offer professors freshly killed venison in exchange for a grade. I’m about to go meet with the director of dining services to show him the petitions and hopefully lobby him a bit for more vegan eats. Very exciting!
And in other good veggie news - tomorrow is the next vegetarian potluck, hosted by yours truly. The theme is Thanksgiving and I’m so pumped. Thanksgiving is by far my favorite holiday. All the yummy food of Christmas sans the commercialism and kitschy music. Plus I genuinely enjoy the spirit of gratitude and reflecting on the many blessings in my life. Anyway, I’ve located my fat pants and am ready to get my Thanksgiving on tomorrow eve.
The rest of the weekend is shaping up to be spectacularly busy and fun - a trip to Memphis, screenings at Frenchie’s, and post-colonial book club on Sunday. Candidates for Mr. Carrots: you’ll have to wait until next weekend for my goodies. Heck, with all this action going on, who needs Mr. Carrots?
And the last blessings to count - Thing One and Thing Two! I know, it’s a gratuitous and unrelated shot - but how can you look at this pic and not smile?
Counting my blessings...
