This course is designed to give students an in-depth introduction to the motion picture medium. Students will gain an understanding of the technical aspects of filmmaking and the ways in which movies express meaning through cinematography, production design, actor performance, editing, sound design, and narrative. The ideology of film and film theory will also be explored.
