Rush are perhaps the only band that can get away with issuing a studio album and following it up with a live record of the tour for that same album, as is the case here. Is there any band on a major label out there that has as many live records as Rush does? People buy 'em. Lots of people. The reason is that yes, Rush fans are fanatics, and who wouldn't want that in a fan base? The other reason is that they issue new studio recordings so infrequently that fans are grateful to have live offerings documenting a particular tour. Another mystery is how, after 33 years, a band with this kind of longevity manages to stay focused and restless, changing gears and musical approaches to its core sound. Certainly not all of their recordings are on the same par, but regardless of musical and cultural trends.... Read More!

Thom Jurek

For more information
check out the official Rush website:
www.rush.com

Check out the RUSH - ROCK iKON (TOP 10) on RockiKonTV:

A sequel to the 'Yesspeak' documentary, it contains two previously 'unreleased' concert performances (filmed at the N.I.A. Birmingham and The Glastonbury Festival) recorded during the group's 2003 35th Anniversary World Tour. Showcasing a set-list culled from Yes' 1970s heyday, old classics like 'Roundabout', 'And You And I', and 'Awaken' affirm that the band's musicianship is still top-notch, while newer material such as 'Magnification' and 'In the Presence Of' demonstrate a renewed vigour. Boasting some awesome OTT visual effects (including a giant wrecking ball), the band are firing on all-guns. Again renowned director David Mallet has used film to document proceedings at the Plaza De Toros De Las Ventas bullfighting stadium in Madrid, Spain. Standards such as 'Hells Bells' and 'You Shook Me All Night Long' still have that 'cutting' edge and sound as fresh as ever. Originally released in 1998, the film has been completely re-edited in HD and the audio remixed in Stereo and 5.1 Surround Sound. Bonus features include "Angus.com" songs and 2 rare live performances. A 'ballbreaking' experience - over 2 hours of classic AC/DC in concert!

For more information
check out the official AC/DC website:
www.acdc.com

An 'essential' addition to any fan's collection, 'Jack In The Green' scans a hefty 23-year period (1970-1993), and features some of their best known work with heavy-weights like 'Aqualung', 'Locomotive Breath', and 'Thick As Brick' classically complimenting standards such as 'Heavy Horses', Hunting Girl' and 'My Sunday Feeling'. An electric 18-track set with 'exclusive' German festival footage from 1986's 'Rocksummer' and 'Out In The Green', (plus the addition of a couple of live tracks from 1993), the main concert on offer is culled from 1982's 'Rockpop' and sees the band in trad. medieval garb in support of 'Broadsword And The Beast'. Die hard Tullites will also cherish 'Beat Club' performances from 1970/71, an era that many consider Tull's creative peak!

For more information
check out the official Jethro Tull website:
www.j-tull.com

Featuring recent recruits Steve Morse (guitar) and Don Airey (keyboards), plus remaining Mk. 2 veterans vocalist Ian Gillan, bassist Roger Glover, and drummer Ian Paice, ‘Around The World Live’ chronicles life without guitar-god Ritchie Blackmore, and primarily pays tribute to the contribution made by ‘retiring’ keysman Jon Lord. A lavish 4 DVD boxed set it showcases live shows from India (1995), Australia (1999), and England (2000). Bonus features include ‘Access All Areas’, a history of the band from inception to the present, an eight song set from Seoul, South Korea (1995), a 1999 documentary, ‘A Band Down Under’, and a 2002 interview with Ian Gillan/Roger Glover. There’s also a 32-page book illustrated with photos of the various eras covered by the concerts.

For more information
check out the official Deep Purple website:
www.deeppurple.com

After a series of brilliant stadium performances across Europe, the tour ended with a spellbinding grand finale in Rome as the band (Tony Banks, Phil Collins, Mike Rutherford, Chester Thompson, and Daryl Stuermer) performed in front of 500,000 fans who filled the historic Circo Massimo for a free, open-air concert. Legendary director David Mallet captured the live spectacle with multiple cameras for this three-DVD set which features the entire concert, plus photo galleries, deleted scenes and photographic reproductions of tour programs. Additionally, the third disc contains ‘Come Rain Or Shine’, an extraordinary fly-on-the-wall documentary that covers the entire tour from the planning stages in 2006 to the show in Rome on July 14, 2007.

For more information
check out the official Genesis website:
www.genesis-music.com
