Ok, so I am finally updating. There is a lot that has gone on. Thanksgiving was great! My brother Paul and His Wife Hannah went on a cruise for their anniversary. They got off the boat Thanksgiving morning and feasted with us. It was so much fun to spend it with them.

Owen had his third birthday. We were planning on a soccer party at the park but it got a bit rainy so we last minute threw together a pizza making party. All the kids got chef hats and went at it. Owen loved having all his friends over and he had a great birthday. Mark had his birthday a couple weeks later.

Christmas Eve was great because we did some old family traditions and also added some of our own. Mark went surfing and we played on the beach it was beautiful. Then we got on a plane Christmas morning and were in snowy Utah. Talk about weather change. It was so much fun over the holidays. We loved seeing everyone and Owen loved playing with his cousins. I stayed an extra 2 weeks for a wedding and to be there for the birth of Maddex, my sister Rachel’s new baby boy! He is adorable. After my extra time in Utah it was definitely time to head home.

When we got home and Owen started a preschool to help with his speech. I was very reluctant about it but he seems to be improving and his teacher said he his great! He also has moved on up to sunbeams at church and he actually stays in his seat. Yeah! Maci couldn’t let Owen be the only one moving and making changes. She has been crawling and as of late pulls herself up on everything she can. She stands in her crib and anything that will hold her weight. Mark tries to remind her that she is supposed to be the calm and mild child. Here we go! Mark starts his gyn/onc rotation this month so things should be crazy and we’ll see how patient I can be. Well, click here for some pics.

It was such a huge help to have both our parents come out and take care of us when Maci was born. Thanks!!!

The last few weeks have been fun but long. Mark is in the middle of his internal medicine rotations which means he is having to put in a lot of hours at the hospital. This means the days at home feel like forever some days. Im still trying to get the hang of running the show with two kids. As if this isn’t enough Owen started potty training last week. I have to say that considering all this I’m surprised I’m still sane. In truth things are truly going well and we are loving being a family of four. Maci is a wonderful little girl. She is already sleeping 7-8 hrs a night and really isn’t too fussy. Owen is very cute with her (when he slows down long enough to notice her).

Last week we had the big waard luau. We have a couple of tongan/samoan families in the ward that put on quite a show. We felt like we were at the PCC. Full roasted pig, hula show, ukulele performances etc. As we were getting ready Owen saw Mark put on his lava-lava and he started pulling his clothes off and begging for his own lava-lava. He was all for getting all dressed up and kept his lava-lava on for over 4 hours. It was actually really nice because it limited his stride so he couldn’t run so fast and we were able to keep tabs on him a bit more easily. Here are some pictures of Maci, the luau and some other random stuff.

She was born on June 30th weighing in at 8lbs 4 oz and 19 inches long. She was with us in the room for about 15 min. Then it turns out that she also had some lung problems. So she was off to the Nicu for about 9 days. My mom flew in the night i went into labor talk about good timing, then my dad flew in later it was great to have all of their help. We are also so thankful for all of the prayers and support that came our way. She really has recovered well and is our little miracle. We are so glad she has come to join our family. Owen has been good with her and calls her baby mimi it’s pretty sweet. Any how here are the pictures click here

The last couple of months we’ve been having a lot of fun. Mark finished his 2nd year and now is just studying for boards in June. Im getting more and more pregnant every day. Our little girl is a wild one in the womb and keeps me up at night with all her kicking. I guess its just getting me ready for when she is born and up through the night. Owen got to go on his first fathers-and-sons camp out. He actually did great and slept really well in the tent. Florida camping is pretty much just hangin out at the park over night (with the alligators!) but they had a great time.

A few weeks ago Grandma Char and Grandpa Jim came out to Florida. Jim had a convention in Orlando so we went up and stayed at the nice hotel with them and partied. Owen loves to see him grandparents and loves getting spoiled by them. We got to swim a bunch and go to Disney. Thanks Grandma and Grandpa.

And then this last week we had another visitor. Uncle Mike, Mark’s brother, came out for several days. He is leaving on his mission soon so he came out for one last hurrah. He and Mark spent Mike’s b-day kiteboarding in Miami and had an amazing time. It sounds like they both got some big air (although I don’t think it was on purpose) and were able to catch on pretty quickly. The guy teaching them, Ernesto, was pretty impressed with their abilities. They came back worn out and sunburned. We went out to dinner that night to celebrate Mike’s b-day and although Owen was terrible at the restaurant, we had a great time.

A couple of days later we went to the beach to hang out. Mike and Mark were goofing around in the small surf catching waves for a while. It was all fun and games until Mike got ran over by the surfboard (Mark was ‘driving’ -ha ha) and the fin gave him a nasty cut along his shoulder. As with all battle wounds the pictures do not do it justice. Needless to say we spent the next couple of hours at some ghetto clinic waiting for Mike to get it all stitched up. We also got to record some of Mikes music which was fun. Thanks for coming out Mike - we had a blast and Owen misses you.

Click here or on the photo above to see more pictures

We had a great time hanging out as a family. We went down to the keys for a couple of days. The pic above is right outside our hotel room it was perfect for Owen he loved that he could walk so far out in the water and it only came to his knees. We saw a lot of crab and Mark attempted to catch one in his bucket, it was a little bigger than expected. We also got alot of cleaning done around the house which makes me very happy. We had a great Easter as well. We missed being with family but had some good times with friends. Oh we also have some pics of the zoo. click on pic above for more pictures

In other news my Mom and Owens cousin Madison came to visit for a week. We had a lot of fun! We played at the beach, went to Disney world and played alot! We loved having them come visit, especially Owen.
So we had some computer problems and despite all of my harassing it still took Mark about four months to get our mac blog back on the computer. It feels so good to be back. So, quite a lot has happened since I last blogged and so in lieu of writing a complete novel I will just put a quick update and we’ll post some pictures and I’ll be better from here on out.

Halloween was great! Owen was a ninja, I was a witch doctor and Mark was butt-rocker. Sadly we didn’t get any pictures of Mark and me in our costumes.

In November my litte bro Paul got married before Thanksgiving . Owen and I flew out for the wedding and Mark came out a few days later after he finished his tests. We had a great time and were able to celebrate O’s b-day with all the family. A highlight of the party was when Owen opened his present from mom and dad - a t-shirt that said “big brother”. That’s right we’ve got number two on the way. New baby Christensen is due on July 8th. Im feeling pretty good besides being tired all the time from being pregnant and chasing Owen around all day.

When we got back to Florida I was pretty sick until we went back to Utah for Christmas. That’s right we flew to Utah for thanksgiving AND christmas. It really was a blast to be with family for all the holidays. Christmas was fun with all the new snow. We built a huge snowman, went sledding and skiing, and just hung out.

For the last month we’ve just been getting back in the groove. Mark thinks he has to study every once in a while. School’s going great and he’s excited to start rotations once he gets done with boards.

So thats Reader’s Digest version of the last four months. click here to see some pictures.

Mark was out of school for Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur. So we went out of town for Rosh Hashanah. It was really nice to spend the weekend with Mark and not have him be worrying about a test on Monday. So we headed down to Orlando. We were able to go to the Temple and then spend time at the greatest place on earth! Disney World. Owen was so fun. He got all excited for the rides and loved riding the tram from the parking lot to the gates. Epcot was also hosting the international food and wine festival so you could taste food from all over the world, in smaller cheaper portions. It was delicious. As for the Wine we will never know but others seemed to enjoy it. It was also fun to see all the pumpkins and halloween decorations around the park it made it feel a little more like fall. I also have to mention the lines were very short. We hardly had to wait in any lines, which is much more pleasant with a toddler. The low season is the time to hit Disney World -Fantastic! I tried to be better about taking pictures so enjoy. click on pic above to view them.

We went to Utah for Carlis wedding and it was wonderful! She looked gorgeous and Jermey looked handsome as well. My only regret amongst all of the action is that I didn’t get one picture on my camera, so Char or Carli post some pics. I’ll steal one to put on the blog. We are happy for both of them and welcome Jermey into the fam.

I stayed a little longer in utah and then my mom flew back with me. The worst flight of my life, but what do you do? It was fun to have my mom come and be able to play. We had a lot of fun and we were sad when she had to leave. I was secretly hoping the tropical storm would of detained her a little longer. he he he.

In other news -Yes! it is true Paul, my youngest brother, has caught the catch of his life! I’m not talking about fish either an adorable gal Hannah. She’s great and we are excited for both of you!
Owen is as crazy as ever and keeps us entertained. The picture at the top is him helping Grandpa Kendall watering the plants. It was funny how Owen thought Grandpa was the greatest because Grandma usually gets the preference with all the granddaughters. I’m sure that Grandpa spoiling him helped (e.g. the many popsicles, chasing and driving crazy in the shopping cart) It was a great trip and Mark even missing school pulled a decent grade on his test.

Mark and I competed in our first triathlon! We’ve been training for a while and in all honesty I was a bit worried about the swimming. It was in a lake, which automatically makes me think alligator. I was sure I would not be coming out of the water with all of my limbs. But none the less we signed up. The morning of the 4th Tim and Katlin watched Owen at 5:45 am (Thanks so much!)

Then we drove to the park and arrived at 6:15. I was already getting nervous. We got our timing chips and permanent marker numbers drawn on us and then set up all our stuff. Mark was taking some pictures and I was just getting more and more nervous. We then hit the restroom and off to the starting line. They did it in waves. Mark was in the first wave and he did awesome on his swim! Then the Male 40 and over wave went. Then my wave. it was pretty intense but I was pretty pleased to come out alive and with all of my limbs attached - Yeah! and I wasn’t last so thats good too. Mark finished before me and took lots of pics of me but I didn’t really get any good ones of him. We had a good time competing. Mark was ranked 7th in his age category and I placed 10th in mine. It was a fun way to start off the 4th. We also had a BBQ with the Hawkes that night and watched some fireworks later on it was a great day!

Kendall A. Warburton
This is my Dad! He loves the outdoors. Some of my most memorable experiences with my dad are when we were spending time in the great outdoors. I loved going hiking, camping, and fishing with him. He also has a great sense of humor. I remember him always making up songs and being silly with all us kids. I have learned a lot through my dads actions. He is a doer a lot of the time - there isn’t a lot of talk about it, he just does it. He is always willing to help neighbors, family and strangers. If I ever needed help he has been there. He made time for us and He always volunteered to coach us kids in our many sports and to support us in our different activities. He has always been a hard worker and especially for his family. One of the many attributes I have come to appreciate more over the years is his dedication to the Gospel and The Lord. He made some important decisions at a young age and has stuck to them. He is always willing to serve and has been an example in his actions. I have never doubted my fathers testimony and have been grateful for that blessing in our home growing up. Oh ya one more thing he is an amazing Grandpa!
I love you Dad Happy Fathers Day!

James Lowell Christensen
This is My Dad and He has been a swell one! I can’t even begin to describe the influence he has been and continues to be in my life. I have always respected my Dad because he marches to the beat of his own drummer (a really cool drummer). On one hand he is a respected lawyer and business man but has never let his priorities get out of whack. He can somehow be one of the most fun and laid-back people while also having what Miss calls an “ over-active level of self-discipline” and intense focus (I’ve been accused of inheriting it. We like to call it “passion”). I love him for instilling in me a belief that I could accomplish anything I set my mind to. I love him for sacrificing so much of his energy to serve the Lord and showing me by example the great blessings that come from always putting the Lord first. I love him playing the same three songs over and over to us on the guitar when we were growing up ( He has since expanded his repertoire). I love him for magically developing an interest in whatever I was in to. I love him for using the word ‘unit’ for pretty much everything. Happy father’s day Dad. We love you!

Mark Lowell Christensen
Owen dictated this one to me. Owen Says he loves his Dad! He loves to play games with him and eat breakfast in the morning together. He loves that his dad takes him on runs and bike trips to the park. He thinks getting tickled is really fun and dancing with dad in the living room to the Beatles is so cool. Owen is so thankful that his dad makes so much time for him even though he is such a busy guy. I love you Dad! Owen

Thank Heavens for Dads! We love You!
I thought it turned out okay. I also put a picture of Owen, the other day he decided to climb up on the table and play with the lilies and the pollen it turned his hair yellow the picture says it all.

It always takes me so long to put up a new post. Well in May Mark finished his first year of Med school. He did awesome in all of his classes and finals! So to celebrate we went to none other than Utah! We had a great time with both of our families and Owen loved hangin’ with his cousins. We were able to go through the temple with my grandma for the first time. She is 91 and it was really neat to be able to share that experience with her. We love her and are so proud of her decision. We were also able to go wake boarding snow skiing, camping and run a 5k. We went to snowbird with Marks family and had a great time. The spring skiing was great and so was the steam room. Owen unfortunately learned how to climb out of his pack-and-play so that was a bit miserable. Luckily though he has only climbed out of his crib at home once. We ran a 5k on Memorial day. Mark pushed Owen in the running stroller so he officially completed his first 5k also. We think he has some good potential. My 2 sisters and brother in-law all ran which make it even more fun. Owen went and visited his Grandpa Warburton’s grave for the first time. He really liked the flowers and the headstones. He also liked playing in his grandma’s yards. He loved Buckley the dog and tried to ride him. He also thought it was necessary to sharing his otter pops with him, it was pretty cute and kinda gross. Any how I have random pictures so you’ll have to check them out. We loved to see all our family and had such a fun time. Thanks all we love you! We had a Great! time! Owen loved hangin’ out with all his cousins, especially getting up in the morning and eating breakfast with Madison. They would just laugh and laugh at each other. We had fun swimming in the pool, making up games, having a boys skinny dip and of course Spending time at Disney World. Owen loved all the rides and just sat and took everything in. It was also funny to see the 3 younger toddlers all in there little harness’s trying to run around everywhere. ( Which I am proud to say I received a lot of compliments on. Yes I sewed them believe it or not) It was great to see all the Keiths and Kay - they’re pretty much family too. I didn’t get very many pictures but i’ll post those I did get on a photo page. Another great discovery - Disney World has Dole Whips! I was walking past the swiss family robinson tree house and there to my surprise on the left hand side A dole company window. I was in heaven. I seriously love those things and I guess if you can’t have one in Hawaii the next best place Disney. We loved spending time with all the family and can’t wait to see you all soon.
