Celebrated movie make-up effects wizard Nick Maley made 53 movies before trading his Ferrari for a sailboat and evolving into a renowned artist in the Caribbean. He is probably best known for his contribution to the creation of Yoda for Star Wars. But those who know him can also attest to his many other diversity talents. His official biography covers the highlights of his career making movies like SUPERMAN, KRULL, HIGHLANDER & more. Inspiration


Nick credits his actor father as his earliest inspiration. Len Maley‘s influence shaped his formative years until, at the age of 13, an insensitive teacher changed Nick’s perspective by declaring that Nick should give up art and drama as he would spend his life working in a factory. It’s said that behind every successful inspired man there’s a woman. It is easy to see from Nick’s early poems that a quest for love and romance have been central to his life since the 60’s. Nick’s paintings & poetry


Nick’s Caribbean artwork has been exhibited in museums and galleries in 18 different countries. It toured the world with UNESCO and is included in thousands of private collections.

His gallery and movie museum, Planet Paradise, is recommended shopping on 15 cruise lines and his online gallery  was established in the mid 90‘s.

Nick’s poetry is less well known, but was one of his earliest creative activities. When his mother died in 2005, Nick found a poem he had written amongst her possessions. It was dated 1955. Nick was 6 years old! Sailing 


Many of Nick’s fans know little of his sailing exploits other than the fact that he and Gloria spent a year sailing the Caribbean. But Nick represented the island nation of Antigua & Barbuda in several competition and won 3 team trophies on his tiny yacht Pumkin which he and a friend salvaged from a tree after a hurricane. Through Nick’s diverse writings you get a glimpse of his philosophy of life. His catch phrase is “Follow your star!” and he encourages young and old to follow their dreams and strive to be all they can be.  He often says, “Life should be a series of adventures”.
