Evening (6:30pm-11pm) Carolyn, shown here with mom, got engaged to Todd in Estes Park, Colorado. The seven-year courtship of Carolyn, a hair stylist and Todd, a software engineer, lasted thanks to how much the two compliment each other. Carolyn explains, “We’re both great compromisers.” At the same time she says they wouldn’t compromise on their reception site, falling in love with the historic appear of the Lumber Baron inn & Gardens and ready to share it with their 70 friends and family.-wk

Holly & Ian: Love on 37th Avenue

Afternoon (11:30am-4pm) Is there anything more romantic than getting engaged overlooking the San Francisco Bay? That’s tough to beat, but this couple whose been together since 2002 will look to do just that for their group of 120 friends and family in September. Holly has a degree in Biology and Chemistry and Ian one in Engineering. They’ve lived just down the street on West 37th Avenue for a year now and are looking forward to sharing the Highlands neighborhood magic with their guests.

Chris & Manual: A Classic Evening

Evening (6:30pm-11pm) Meeting someone online could never have been more wonderful than for Chris and Manual. Chris, a police officer and Manuel, a letter-carrier have selected Saturday night for their reception of 100-150 friends and family to make it extra convenient for everybody. They selected the Lumber Baron because as Chris says, “It’s charming, has character and is classic.” History is important to this couple and we so pleased to be celebrating with them ! -wk

Mykel & Jimmy: Canvas for Love

Evening (6:30pm-11pm) For Mykel and Jimmy, making the Lumber Baron their site for their wedding came naturally. For Mykel, whose family has run one of the long-standing pizza spots in the neighborhood, the Lumber Baron feels like home. “The garden is a great canvas for this event,” she explains. And she would know, working at the San Francisco Academy Art University proves it. Jimmy, who hails from Riverton, Wyoming met Mykel in California through friends. Today the couple lives a few blocks from the Inn raising seven year old son Austin. The wedding of 100 will make for a wonderful family-friendly event. -wk
