We spent an extended Columbus Day weekend in Berlin, which was lots of fun! Since Scott spent a year living there, and I had never been, I got the insiders tour of the city. One of our favorite parts of the trip was actually our hotel. It just opened, and was started by a group of friends who decided together that they wanted to convert a warehouse in a still slightly sketchy, but also really hip, East Berlin neighborhood into a hotel. One of the friends is an interior architect, so the design was really cool...and it was inexpensive!
We were there for 5 cold, rainy days, as Germany seemed to skip over fall and go straight to winter, but it was made up for with all the fun things to do in Berlin. We realized during the trip that Frankfurt is kind of like the Cleveland of Germany. : ) Below are some pictures from the trip.
Brandenburg Gate World Clock on Alexanderplatz
Lions from Babylonian Ishtar Gate Scott in a Trabi (East German car made of plastic)
