Blog Re-Vamp

Ah how times change. After taking a summer blogging sabbatical, I am back with oh so much to say. My life has done a complete 180 due to some unexpected circumstances. I planned, for months, to spend my fall in southern Italy. My plans fell through, and I’ve had a hard time dealing with the loss- not only of that trip experience but of a very important relationship in my life. Obviously, my problems are miniscule compared to so many others’, but this experience has forced me to re-examine, re-evaluate, and re-vamp a lot of things in my life. Including this blog! So consider this your invite to join me on what should be a very interesting experience as I venture into the unknown- without plans, without a job, without my best friend. Despite all of this, I have so much to be grateful for and that’s what I want to focus on.
Another thing I want to concentrate on is (who knew this would ever happen), the ELECTION on November 4th! There’s just over a month till we elect our next president, and I want to make sure as many young people get out there, register, and vote on Election Day as possible. I believe it’s this generation’s major responsibility to voice our opinions. If there is going to be change in this country, it comes down to the young American vote to bring about that change. So really, even if you think your vote doesn’t count, or, in the case of my state- New York- even if you think your state is already spoken for as being Democratic or Republican, it doesn’t matter. EVERY VOTE COUNTS!
I won’t go on a tangent about who I’m voting for- at least not in this entry, but I do encourage anyone who is voting Barack Obama to visit his website and contribute any way you can. Host a debate viewing party! How fun! Just spread the word.
