W.T. Eich braves torrential downpours and colder than usual temperatures to have the best 8th grade trip ever! Trip highlights included a Baltimore Orioles game and fantastic historical scenery and tours through Washington D.C. area. Next it was on to Gettysburg to reenact famous Civil War battlefield scenes and follow ghosts through the Lutheran Seminary. As usual, the highlight of the trip was New York City. Even though the first day was fairly wet, this didn’t slow us down from catching the musical Shrek, visiting Ground Zero and taking a peaceful stroll through Central Park. It became a little scary at the end when we disembarked in the Denver airport only to find our connecting flight had been cancelled. Luckily, the thought of having 80 tired 8th graders spend the night in the airport didn’t appeal to them and they rerouted a flight going to San Jose so they could take us home. Perfect behavior, great itinerary and tons of great memories combined to make it one of the best trips ever!!!
