"There is a need for traditional beauty in our lives. We should treat ourselves to beauty in the everyday objects we use. What better way to start the day than with your favorite morning beverage sipped from a one of a kind, traditionally formed mug. The feel of the mug in your hands and the richness of the color in the glaze help to start your day feeling special. Clay artists love what they do and you can't help but feel that love in the pieces they make."

Janet E. Glass began a three-year apprenticeship under master potter, Roberta Whitney in 1994. Janet worked as a production potter and instructor in the Pottery Studio of Arlington during that time. She also studied with Randy Brodnax at Cedar Valley College, Lancaster Texas. She has attended workshops by noted potters: Val Cushing, Robin Hopper, Harding Black, James C. Watkins, Lana Wilson, Daphne Hatcher, Michael Haley and Susy Siegele, Bridgit Hauser and others.

Janet's love of the earth and clay began long before pottery. She was graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington in 1977 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology. After working as a petroleum geologist from 1977 to 1984, Janet returned to UTA and completed 4 years of graduate studies in volcanics. While in graduate school Janet "took a class" in pottery and was "hooked". Influenced by her academic background in geology, Janet develops the glazes used to produce high-quality functional stoneware, and decorative pieces in a variety of styles. Janet also teaches the classes available at the studio.
