Human Milk Oligosaccharides (HMO) are complex glycans that are present at very high concentrations in human milk but not in infant formula. If mom invests so much energy in making these complex glycans, there must be a good reason for it. - How do mom’s HMO benefit the breast-fed infant? How are HMO synthesized in the human mammary gland? How can we provide formula-fed infants with HMO or HMO-like glycans?

Our Objective is to create a collaborative, multidisciplinary team committed to study biosynthesis and functions of Human Milk Oligosaccharides.

Our Mission is to provide formula-fed infants with the same benefits that breast-fed infants receive with their mother’s milk

Dedicated to Research on Human Milk Oligosaccharides
