about the coach

I began coaching my sons’ basketball and baseball teams to be able to spend time with them and teach them the life skills that come out of each step of competition and adversity. Our relationships are strong and trustworthy because we know each other’s hearts. Building a basketball court in our backyard was to encourage and foster the passion of not just playing basketball, but spending time together with family and friends.
I grew up playing basketball, running cross country and track, with a little bit of baseball thrown in. When I was a senior in high school, my grandfather died of cancer during my basketball season. I began dedicating each of my games to him and my game was never the same from that point on. I realized that God had instilled a blessing on my play and character that I would hold dear to this day. I realized I was no longer playing for just me, but it was an honor to be playing for someone other than myself. I strive to uphold that character on and off the court and try to emulate my obedience to Him and glorify Him in all that I do with our team.
My hope is that anyone that is involved in sports, will give the honor and glory to God knowing that it is He that grants us our abilities. May I serve as a coach and mentor in a God honoring way to these boys not only in basketball, but in life.... and somewhere along the way, success will reveal itself in each individual, and ultimately as a Team.
