Team Formation

Two competitive teams consisting of 12 to 14 players will be formed depending on the availability of coaches and skilled players.

Players will be chosen for the 2010 U12G Spring Select Team based on the quality of their play during the Fall 2009 season and their performance at the tryouts. Factors that play a part in player selection include skill, speed, effort, understanding of the game, sportsmanship, practice habits, commitment to improving soccer skills and physical conditioning, commitment to attending two practices per week and to participating in the tournaments, family volunteer commitment, the team's positional needs, team chemistry, and the recommendations of fall season coaches.

Tryout Information

Formal tryouts will be held in late October early November if weather permits. The detailed tryout information can be found here.

Unlike the Fall season, the Spring program is selective and not every player who is interested can be accommodated on a team. Player selection is solely the responsibility of the coaches. While some players who played in a previous Select season may be chosen for the 2010 team, participation on an AYSO Select team in a previous year is no guarantee of selection to the 2010 team.

Cost

Once a player has been offered a spot on either team, they accept by writing a check to the team for $400. We expect the final costs per player to be in the range of $400 and a refund will be given at the end of the Spring season. This fee covers the cost of field usage, uniforms, league fees, tournament fees but not the cost of accommodation or transport to/from games and tournaments.

Note to Parents

Preference will be given to players whose parents are willing to sign on as referees. This will require you to be available to ref at some tournaments as this is typically a requirement of acceptance into those events.
