Harry Kuperhause

Harry Kuperhause paints what he sees and more so.  He has a preference for painting natural phenomena while extrapolating an element that collides with his personality.  He is aggressive yet a pacifist.  A romantic yet tempered by classicism.

Harry believes that art is Beauty.  His paintings might depict a horrible event but beauty shines through making the scene glorious.  There is always a palpable hope in his paintings which reflect his personality.  As well, the artist attempts to achieve a harmony of beauty by understanding the nature of the media while pushing it to its limits.

Harry is a perpetual student of art history and of its development from cave paintings to the present.  He is thankful to past artists and their achievements because they are a constant reminder that art is great, beautiful, and glorious.

Having said that, the actual process of painting is to the artist a limitless open-ended act of sensuality.  Harry’s paintings thus embody his contradictory personality by combining his strong technical abilities, his knowledge of art history, and his personal visions.

Harry Kuperhause is represented in Canada by Framed By Izzi in Toronto and by Galerie Quartier Libre in Montreal.
