This Summer on our Colorado vacation, we took the Cog Railway up to Pikes Peak. This young girl was on the train with us on the other side of the aisle. She was just leaning her head on the window, and I loved the way the light fell on her hair and face. I snapped some photos of her for reference and did this painting.

I entered this into the Oil Painters of America Eastern Regional show today. I’ll let you know if it gets juried in. ;)
