"Proud Recipeint of an Innovation Grant from The PEDIGREE Foundation in recognition of the great things we do for dogs."

About The PEDIGREE Foundation:

Formed in 2008 by the PEDIGREE Brand, The PEDIGREE Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping dogs in need find loving homes by supporting the good work of shelters and dog rescue organizations throughout the country.  Through no fault of their own, more than four million dogs end up in shelters and rescue organizations every year, and nearly half of them never find a place to call home.

The foundation provides grants to 501(c)(3) shelters and dog rescue organizations nationwide and encourages dog lovers to adopt, volunteer and donate to support the cause.  For more information or to make a tax-deductible donation online, visit www.pedigreefoundation.org.  All donations go directly to help us help dogs

         ‘Bullet’
I am a young, happy, energetic bulldog mix that is looking for a new home with a family that will love me. You see I haven’t had the best luck so far in 2012 so I am hoping that things will start looking up for me.

My foster mom and dad named me Bullet cause I was shot. Yes, shot with a 22 bullet, in my leg. It grazed my pelvic bone but didn’t break anything. I was hanging out with another dog and reports are we were bothering livestock so someone shot me and killed my buddy. The animal control people who came to help me couldn’t have been nicer. They took me to the vet who got the bullet out of my leg, took an x-ray to make sure that nothing had been broken by the bullet and put me on some medications to keep me from developing an infection and to control the pain from the bullet. IT HURT A LOT!! But through it all, I was always sweet and easy to work with.

Then they called NorCal Bulldog Rescue to tell them about me and to see if they would take me right away. Since I was several hours away, there was a transport going near a NorCal volunteer who could take me in. A nice lady named Kathy met the transport driver and then took me to my foster mom. They were both surprised when they saw me and realized I wasn’t 100% bulldog. Because I was so sweet they took me in anyway. I am glad about that cause I don’t know what would have happened to me otherwise.

I have just been hanging out and recovering for the last couple of weeks and I am feeling so much better. I love other dogs and would like to have a neutered male dog to play with, preferably something closer to my age and size. My foster mom thinks I would probably do fine with kids old enough not to be easily knocked down. I just get so excited sometimes I forget about not jumping on people but I am really working on that. I know how to use a dog door. I need a secure fenced yard to burn off some of my energy and wouldn’t be happy in an apartment. If you are interested in adopting me, go to www.norcalbulldogrescue.org and complete an application and indicate under comments that you are interested in Bullet. Then my foster mom will contact you. I am a really sweet girl!http://www.norcalbulldogrescue.org/shapeimage_4_link_0
