In this episode, Dr. Whitney discusses why the problem of evil is so threatening to belief in God, and why monotheistic religions like Christianity have a unique problem of evil which demands a different solution than that of eastern religions. He then shows how the problem of evil has been formulated and responds to some of the arguments used by skeptics to reject belief in God, based on these formulations.
This podcast is an edited version of one of Dr. Whitney's lectures from his University Course, titled "God and Evil."

We all suffer. But what causes suffering? Is God to blame, or us, nature, or evil forces? Does God allow suffering for justifiable reasons? While some suffering may be attributed to sinful human beings and blind forces of nature, would a loving and powerful God not prevent the most meaningless and tragic of sufferings?
