Noble Hot Pot is a great secret hangout. You are both the cook and diner in this place. You shade in your favorite broth and frozen foods, and then the waitress brings them to you.

They went ahead about bought the barber shop and arcade neighboring them and turned it to a full-on restaurant.
Celebrating their 60th year, Paul got talking to the staff and owners about their history. They said if you’ve got old photos of Bert’s ; bring them in and they’ll lace you up with some food.

Paul had a Seafood Club Sandwich and I had something called Veal Condon Blue. It was a lot of fun!

Last night was the first night of White Spot’s new summer menu. Paul wans’t even in the mood to eat, he just wanted to see the new food. As Paul sat back for an observational role on this expedition ; I took helm of the judgment on the evening’s sapor.

The great thing about Paul is he is always making sure to show things in the best light there he can find. If there was an angle-worm that ruined your barrel of apples, he’d tell you it was the perfect fishing worm.

To be blunt - I wasn’t electrified by this meal. However, Paul would never let me ramble on about wet asparagus. So let’s look at the positives in this meal.

For those living outside of the lower mainland, White Spot is chain of family restaurants that has been gearing itself towards the modern cuisine but still allowing you to bring your noisy children and wacky grandpa out for dinner. While Paul and I where growing up, it’s lead to rather immature presumptions of where the title “White-Spot” came from. Today - things are different, and the menu boasts an influence from the entire world. I have felt White Spot can really fit in with anybody. And, hey, come on - they try. There are certainly marks for presentation and service. Maybe it’s the theatre crowd that needs to get to their 7:00 showing, or the un-complicated preparation system for the pre-graduate line cooks - But the White Spot sure is quick and kind of tasty.

It was quite busy, so we took a seat at the counter. The first thing we ordered was a coffee, it was actually really tasty local coffee. When we moved over to a booth, the waitress took our orders and we where in a booth in less than a reasonable 10 minute wait.
Our orders came just as we finished our coffee’s and got to work. I really enjoyed my Lentil Loaf and Salad. I really enjoy the salad there, it’s fresh, served at a nice temperature and the dressings are really nice. Paul was pretty happy about his side order Facaoia bread, but didn’t really touch the chili. He said it wasn’t his style.
So, we hit the Juke-Box, which is located on the wall of everybooth.
Check out some of the jams we played for only a quarter...
Within the decor it boasts wonderful stories about the Fat-Burger stand was popular with traveling blues musicians. Paul was pretty surprised that they still sold liquor at the counter. Must be a blues musician thing.
Let’s hear what Paul has to say about the first bite.
“It’s great, I really like this burger”

Paul, What do you think about the service?
“The service was fast and the servers where very nice”

What about the decor and atmospehere
“It’s very sanitary”
