My parents are in town to visit us - it’s awesome! They also came in for a wedding of my cousin, Kara who was married to Kiel (who’s an awesome guy) - they both attend Grace. Anyway - I think my dad heard about this little diner on the Travel channel or Food Network or something, so like 3 months ago he said, “when we come out we want to go to “Mickey’s”. I had heard about it before then, but never went. So, this morning we took the trek to visit “Mickey’s”. From what I understand it’s been in all kinds of movies and is world famous. One review I read said, “the food is great, but the service is horrible.” Enter in, “Mary”- she was our server and once you got passed the exterior, she was a very cool person. She even came outside and took a picture of our family for us (now that’s nice service). Ok, so you want to know about the food? Well, it’s your typical “greasy spoon”. My dad was all excited about trying the hashbrowns, which were very good I have to say. The eggs were yummy and the sausage was very good. How about the seating? Well, there really is none. Ok there is some (see pictures on the side) but at first all 6 of us (plus baby Christina (not featured in pictures)) were crammed into one of those booths. We were thankful when another family left, so we could spread out on two booths. But again, the food was good, the experience was second to none and being with the family is the best!
I love our adventures.
