Students at Mary Bryan have a variety of opportunities for musical growth, including singing, playing instruments, computer-based notation exercises, learning about composers and music history, and movement.
In our music room, we have a Yamaha MIE-1 keyboard lab, with enough keyboards for 30 students to have their own two-octave keyboard. In the keyboard lab, the students use a keyboard method book written by Mr. Stebbe, the music teacher. Click here for a slide show of the Mary Bryan keyboard lab.

Also, from time to time I (Mr. Stebbe) bring the 4th- and 5th-grade students into the school computer lab to do various computer music activities, including composing with a music notation program called Finale Notepad (available as a free download). 4th- and 5th-grade students did this activity on the week of March 23-27.
Also, in the fall of each year, I plan to take students on a tour of a fabulous children’s music educational web site called The New York Philharmonic KidZone!
We use a set of music textbooks from MacMillan/McGraw/Hill, and are called “Spotlight on Music.” They are designed to support the Indiana State Music Standards.
Please try the various links above, and get to know our music program!
E-mail the music teacher, Mr. Stebbe. Or call me at 789-2658.
Grades 4-5 experienced a “Distance Learning” program from the Cleveland Institute of Music called “Music At The Movies” during the week of January 12-19, 2008.
