Have you ever longed for

direction in life?

Did you ever hear someone say "God told me..." and then wondered if they’d lost it?

Ever felt guilty because you don't pray as much as you think you should?

We're Mark Herringshaw and Jennifer Schuchmann authors of Six Prayers God Always Answers and Nine Ways God Always Speaks. We’ve written on the subject of talking with God, not because we have all the answers, but because we wanted to explore the questions no one else was asking.

Questions like:

  1. Are people who hear from God crazy?

  2. Is there a right way and a wrong way to pray?

  3. Why does God answer other peoples’ prayers but not mine?

In our books, we’re committed to stripping prayer of all the easy answers and “how-to formulas.” We want to show prayer as it should be—a conversation with God.

Conversation is our primary building block of our relationships, so it's not surprising that God also uses dialogue to grow our relationship with him. Traditional theology would call these conversations prayer. However, prayer has become loaded with so many expectations, how-to formulas, and frustrations that many of us have ended up missing the whole point of the dialogue.

It's this simple: God desires relationship with us even more than we desire it with him. He’ll do whatever it takes to engage us just hoping we’ll spend a little time in conversation with him.

Through these conversations we learn more about who he is. That's why we're choose to call these interactions, God-versations. He calls us to him, invites us to talk with him, and then the exchange starts all over again. You can still call them prayer, that's fine with us, as long as you know that these conversations don't start with us. Or end with us. God initiates them, calls us to him, and engages us in his conversation.

Six Prayers God Always Answers*

*Results May Vary

Well meaning religious people have added so many "conditions" to prayer that most of us are afraid we don't do it right. We blame ourselves when we feel like our prayers go unanswered because we didn't pray hard enough, long enough, or in the right way.

But what if connecting with God is more like having an intimate conversation with your spouse, a really bad fight with your best friend, or a teaching moment with your child? Six Prayers God Always Answers will show you it’s not the how-to, it’s the who-to.

Nine Ways God Always Speaks*

This book contains some amazing, and frankly, unbelievable stories of people who've heard God speak through nature, coincidences, dreams and visions, other people, and more traditional ways such as the Bible. This book is about how we listen and hear from God.
