Mommy’s Mascara

I came home from a short solo shopping trip and Gisele was nowhere to be seen. "Where is Gisele," I asked Jon. He looked everywhere, but then we found her sitting at my makeup table. She actually put mascara on her eyelashes; pretty coordinated for a 2-year-old. After the glare I gave Jon, he replied, "She told me that she wanted to be alone." Does anybody else see the obvious red flag?

Jiu-Jitsu

Conner has been taking Brazilian Jiu-jitsu classes for one year now. Note the stripe on his belt which signifies an advancement. He recently changed schools to Gracie-Barra Jiu-Jitsu, where the Gi’s are much more flashy. There are 6 patches on his Gi that state the schools name, just incase you didn’t notice the other ones--oh, there is a giant one on his back as well (so make that 7 patches). He does look hansom though.

Sword of Righteousness

Grandma gave Gisele, Sleeping Beauty for Christmas, and Gisele has memorized many lines and choreography from this movie. She loves the last part of Sleeping Beauty where Prince Philip battles the evil Maleficent(while she’s a dragon). I candidly caught Gisele acting out this scene--even the part where the sword flies into the dragon’s heart. Gisele also acts like Princess Aurora and pretends to be asleep so that her brother can come kiss her and awaken her. But that’s not as funny as this....

First Fish

Leave it to boys to want to experience gross things like sticking a finger in side a fishes gill and hold up the slimy fish for a picture (Conner actually reeled this one in). The Robinson boys gutted their fish, brought them home and cooked them for dinner. When I sat down for dinner Jon put the whole fish in front of me with a fork--eyeballs and all. Kara (my sis-in-law), accompanied me in the other room with a hamburger.

Most people know that Jon’s new hobby is “Bird Watching” in our backyard. I’ve had to explain to a couple of our neighbors, hoping that they don’t think we’re creepy, that Jon is actually watching the birds. Gisele has got the right idea, but she’s looking through the wrong end of the binoculars. Jon is so pleased that one of his kids is taking an interest in his hobby.
