(Part 2 of 2): The reason this is a longer video than I usually produce on one of my site visits is that I could talk with Jack Sholder for hours! Jack is Hollywood, both old school and new school. He was a director, writer, editor in California for years. He has directed Kiefer Sutherland, Jeremy Piven, and many others. He has directed thirteen feature length features and knows how Hollywood works and loves to pass it on to his students. A professor in the Department of Stage and Screen and Program Director of the Motion Picture & Television Production area, he speaks of how as a director and editor, aspect ratio formats where just as important when shooting film, especially for T.V.as they are today in HD video workflows. He also proposes that HD digital video cameras are really just tools of the craft and what is important is what’s on the screen. Most of the b-roll for this piece was shot in a very exciting, collaborative class. Fascinating teacher. Fascinating class.
