John Reece Project
is a collaborative effort of writer/producer/musician John Reece along with Michigan’s finest blues, jazz, funk, pop and soul musicians.
The project utilizes a mix of different performers depending upon the venue making them perfect for local clubs, corporate events, concerts, restaurants and private affairs. The musicians are top notch, dress professionally and respective of volume levels.
Current live performers include: vocalist Sarah Schingeck, guitarist Matt Douglas, percussionist Patty Evans, drummer/percussionist Chuck Flores and keyboardist/bassist Mark Cooper.
Contributing artists include: guitarist/songwriters Steve Jaracz, Frank Oesterling, Glen Eddy, Detroit Johnny Lane and Fred Gossman, vocalists Christina Morgan, Duane Walker, Quean Darlene, Robin and Ronda Pierce and Pamela Pierce Fuller (of Guest Stars, Inc./nieces of Levi Stubbs of The Four Tops), Hall of Fame vocalists Rosalind Holmes, Annette Helton and Pat Lewis of The Original Vandellas, keyboardist Renaldo Copeland (of the Miracles fame), BluesMan/songwriter Paul Miles, bassist Mark Mathis, drummers/percussionists Mike Paradise, Tone Styles, Rob Schneider, Jack Douglas and Chris Fortin, saxophonist Tommy Spagetti and Keyboardist Dino Vallone.
John Reece
is an accomplished smooth jazz saxophonist, writer, producer, arranger and master of the blues harmonica. John writes and collaborates with local and touring artists and records in his own ProTools “Island Paradise Studio”. His smooth saxophone sound is highly influenced by his blues roots. John travels the Caribbean and performs with local artist who greatly inspire his music.
John performs as “The John Reece Project”, with local bands, studio sessions and as solo, duo and trio acts.
John was featured in Big City Rhythm and Blues Magazine April 2005 in an article spotlighting Detroits’ great horn players. His CD’s were nominated in 2006 and 2008 for "Outstanding Jazz Recording" by the Detroit Music Awards and he was nominated personally for "Outstanding Jazz Instrumentalist" and "Outstanding Jazz Composer” in 2007.
