Arrowbank Lodge
Bed & Breakfast
John and Jill welcome you to Arrowbank Lodge (formerly Tan House), which is situated on the River Arrow and 4 minutes walk from Kington High Street, 2 miles from the Welsh border. This peaceful and friendly B&B overlooks the river and meadows beyond, with their resident sheep and cattle (to be seen most of the year).
Bedrooms: All 3 are en-suite (one, the twin, has a private bathroom with its own key across the landing), and all have tea and coffee making facilities, TV with Sky Freesat, radio alarms and hairdryers. Fresh milk and soft drinks are available from a small fridge on the residents’ landing, the latter at reasonable cost.
Relaxing: There is a guests’ lounge in the conservatory, which overlooks the river and where tea and coffee can be made. Guests can also relax at tables and chairs by the river or on the bench seat in the pergola.
Facilities: Drying facilities are available as are luggage transfers (by arrangement - cost usually £15 to Knighton or Hay). Cycle storage is available; packed lunches by arrangement. Ample off-road parking, lit in the evenings. No smoking, regretfully no pets and sadly, for safety reasons because of the river, no children under 12 years.
Food: Breakfast (and dinner) is taken in either the dining room or conservatory. There is a wide breakfast choice which includes fresh fruit, yoghurt, cereals, porridge, smoked fish and full English. John’s excellent home-cooking can be enjoyed with a two or three course dinner by arrangement.
In these peaceful surroundings, John and Jill offer a warm welcome and the opportunity to relax in comfort.
