“A Wooden Sketchbook” ( un carnet d’artiste sur bois ) est un travail en progression permanente.
Commencé en 2005, il est composé d’une multitude de petites oeuvres de 30 x 20 cm collées l’une à l’autre. En 2008, une centaine de séquences étaient réalisées.
Le but visé est une représentation du monde tel que nous le percevons : nous avons conscience de notre petit instant dans un univers infiniment plus grand et insaisissable. A partir du moment où le spectateur se rapproche de l’oeuvre pour voir l’une des séquences en détail, tout le reste autour devient flou et insaisissable.

“A Wooden Sketchbook” is a work in constant progress. Started in 2005, it contains 100 small paintings until now, all of them painted in oilcolour on wood / 30x20 cm each.
All small sequences are put close together , producing a kind of “puzzle of life” emanation - similar to the permanent “puzzle” in anyone’s existence. As soon as one takes a closer look to any of the different paintings, the surrounding pictures become unsharp and and abstract -just like any situation in real life.
