Zach’s 1st Preschool Graduation

Today Zachary graduated from Messiah Preschool for the first time...why the first time you ask? Because he’ll be going one more year for Pre-K and we’ll do this again next year. The four year old classes participate in graduation because some are graduating, but many are returning for pre-K and will be his classmates.

I was so proud of Zach! He has been practicing his songs and telling me the words and been really excited! He really got into it this year and he sang really well and did a fabulous job on stage! We all did the Pledge of Allegiance together and then they started the program with God Bless America and then did many other songs. Then they each walked up to their teachers and received a preschool diploma...soooo cute! Then there was a reception with cookies and drinks and we all mingled with friends and teachers, it was lovely as usual! Then we said our goodbyes and went to celebrate with dinner at McDonalds. A great evening. Here are some memories...

Our first Busch Gardens Trip of the Year

So, this year we got annual passes to Busch Gardens and Water Country USA for the whole family. Todd is home this year, yay! So, we will go more often as a family. And we all love the water park too. So, we got the combo passes.

This weekend was opening weekend at BG, so we decided to go up and have our first BG day of the year! Tina and her family ended up deciding to do the same thing! So, we met up with them in the park throughout the day and the kids got to ride some stuff together. And afterward, we all went out to dinner too.

The weather forecast wasn’t all that great, but we were planning to brave the rain anyway as the afternoon looked better as it got later. As it turned out, the weather was gorgeous, up to 80 but with a nice strong breeze, just perfect! PLUS, it was empty in there!!! I think the weather scared people away, so the lines were NOTHING!! No crowds, hardly any waits at the rides and restaurants, it was just a lovely day all around! And we got to spend it with friends.

Wonderful way to kick off the year...and hopefully we’ll get more and more days like this and less and less in the forties! I am DONE with winter!

Snow and a Playdate

We finally got real snow! Alex was sooooo excited! She was out immediately after waking up making snow angels and building a mini snowman. (see our P365 blog for her thoughts). We also saved a container of snow to commemorate this momentous day in Chesapeake. (Hopefully the power won’t go out and it will melt again like last time) School was already a holiday today, so no extra time off school. But, it was just as fun. It all melted by noon I think.

And then we had a playdate with many great friends and made chicken quesadillas, yum! And the kids had cookies and cupcakes and played some more. It was a lovely day.

Tomorrow it’s back to normal, bus, gym, etc, etc.

We’re off to finish bedtime and watch Heroes.

I know, it’s been so long, i never even posted her birthday pictures from 2 weeks ago! Or anything since Jan 4!

Well, I’m back and I am determined to post more regularly....so let me start by saying that it has just been an incredibly busy first six weeks of 2009. I am just now able to breathe easily again, schedule wise. We had three family birthdays (Me, Todd and Alex) , a birthday party, a couple Girl Scout events, Valentine’s Day and a dinner party we threw last night. I think I’m done for a while, I think...

Alex’s 7th Birthday party was a HUGE success! Kids and adults alike had a great time and it was cute as ever! It’s hard to tell with the flash photos, but imagine the lights are all off, the music is playing on the overhead speakers, there are blacklights all around and oh, by the way, the kids’ bowling shoes glow in the dark! And mini red laser lights floating all around the room, lots of kids were trying to “catch” them! it really was fun and I think she fully enjoyed her celebration.

So, you say it’s my birthday?

...na na na na na!!! LOL

Yesterday was actually my birthday and I thought I’d post a few pics of how my day went. Alex and Zach and Todd pampered me all day, got my favorite cake and pretty flowers for me and too many presents! Thanks family! Then we all went to dinner and came home to play a couple games before bed. Then Todd and I watched the movie Seven on HBO...eek, forgot how freaky that one was, but still good. Ok, that’s it, i am tired...I went to the gym this morning, yay!!!
