This past weekend my dad and I met Ande and her dad in Ann Arbor for the Purdue/Michigan game. We had a blast watching the Boilers silence all the Michigan fans in The Big House on a perfect fall day.
Until the 3rd quarter the only Boilermakers that showed up to play were the band members. They led off the half-time activities and they performed Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” and they were awesome. They all learned the dance moves and rocked it out. During their performance my dad turns to me and says, “they never do this at home games, they always play that Beethoven's 23rd crap”. The Michigan band was pretty lame compared to them.
So if you want to know the secret to Purdue beating Michigan at The Big House...its my dad! The last time Purdue won in Ann Arbor was 43 years ago and my dad, a senior at the time, traveled up to the game to see Bob Griese beat the Wolverines and head to The Rose Bowl. My mom thinks we need to let the Purdue Athletic Department know this so maybe they can get some free tickets or a good parking spot at the games!
