Jesse Boyd: Profile of a Peakbagger
One of my most enjoyable hobbies is tagging closed contours (aka “peakbagging”). The struggle to the summit of a worthy mountain is a physical picture of the spiritual struggle that exists in the life of a born-again Christian as he walks along his earthly pilgrimage (Philippians 1:29). The journey must be taken one step at a time. Once attaining the goal, the rewards are well worth every trial, tribulation, and agonizing step (Romans 8:18). By God’s grace, I have climbed to the summit of nearly 400 peaks; including adventures in the Himalayas, the Andes, and above the Arctic Circle; extensive peak-bagging in the Sierra Nevada; big Cascade Volcanoes; some jewels of the Rockies; a handful of closed contours in Alaska; and plentiful worthy peaks in the Appalachians, including all 40 Southern Sixers. As an added bonus, the Lord has allowed me to be able to place the Gospel of Jesus Christ and small Bibles in numerous summit registers while putting up new registers containing the Gospel on many peaks that did not previously boast one. On this site, you can wade through my peakbagging obsession, mountaineering penchants, and personal quests (as they unfold and progress) as well as enjoy a few photos recapping various adventures from around the world.
This page is dedicated to the glory of the Lord Jesus Christ: God manifest in the flesh (I Timothy 3:15), the Creator of all things (Colossians 1:16-17), and the ONLY WAY to eternal life (John 14:6; Acts 4:12). All Praise to the Maker of the Mountains!

“For, lo, he that formeth the mountains . . . the LORD, the God of hosts is his name (Amos 4:13, KJV).”
