We eat cold cereal for breakfast. I know, I know, oatmeal and cream of wheat and other hot cereals are much healthier. Blah blah blah cholesterol. Blah blah blah refined sugar. Blah blah blah fiber. I’ve heard it all. The fact is, I just can’t make myself eat them.
You see, I grew up eating that stuff nearly every day as a child. Every morning, gaging it down as fast as possible so I wouldn’t have to taste it. It’s like eating something on a road trip and then you get car sick. And every time you eat it after that you remember the feeling of being car sick. So you never eat it again. Same thing.
So, here is my “less unhealthy” alternative. Granola. But not just any granola, my own “secret recipe” granola. Well, I adapted a recipe to suit my discerning palate. And I love it. Jeff loves it. Jack can’t eat it because he’s allergic to coconut. But Sam, he begs for it. I guess 3 out of 4 ain’t bad.
Wanna try some? You could a) visit our place of residence between 8:30 - 11:00 in the morning or b) make some for yourself. Either way, let me know what you think.
Does anyone else have a “less unhealthy” alternative recipe they love and want to share?
