Camera phones come and go, but even after 19 months the legendary Nokia N95 can still show those young upstarts a thing or two!
The Nokia N95 User Group over at Flickr has played it’s part in helping Nokia’s classic Nseries device cement it’s legendary status. Thanks to all 1,443 members (up by almost 40% in just the last 3 months!) who continue to support the best Flickr camera phone group.
And so to the winners.
Just take a good look at the photo at the top of this page. Stunning isn’t it? Did you ever think that you would see this kind of quality from a phone? Allard One’s “Is It Dusk Or Is It Dawn?” is quite possibly the best N95 landscape I’ve come across. The detail and subtly of colour is quite marvelous and certainly serves as inspiration to this N95 owner to get up earlier in the morning!
All five winning photos were selected because show two of the N95’s key strengths, detail and colour reproduction. Early adopters will testify that this hasn’t always been the case with the N95, strange colour shifts (Mars Effect) and over eager noise reduction almost ruined everything in early 2007. Thankfully, through a series of firmware updates Nokia turned things around. Phew!
From top left to bottom right, the winners are...

Many thanks to the readers who support these awards and to everyone over at the group, your work is inspirational!
