WHAT PEOPLE SAY

"James Edwards' Hoffmann was robust of tone, but generally well controlled and with plenty of expressive phrasing, a good combination of attributes' OPERA Rian Evans December 2008 Edition

'James Edward’s victimized Novice is truly touching' THE STAGE, David Blewitt

'James Edwards sang the title role (hoffmann) with plenty of fervor, with the lyricism for the dreamy fellow and the strength for Offenbach's characteristic passionate rising sequences' OPERA NOW Robert Thicknesse Jan 2009

'James Edwards was a pure toned Pinkerton, emotionally careless until too late...' EVENING STANDARD Fiona Maddocks

'James Edwards simply shone as Albazar and deserves mention for his arresting performance as the young shepherd Nikolios' musicomh.com Dominic McHugh

“In scenes from Act II of Rossini’s Otello, tenor James Edwards in the title role profited from an Italianate ring to the top of his voice...”

Young Artists’ Programme Concert / Royal Opera, London / The Stage

Wiener Zeitung

'James Edwards, singing Hoffmann, produced some lovely tenor singing: a full-throated sound, well supported throughout and hardly a sign of strain throughout a long evening's sing' musicalcriticism.com

'James Edwards is a fine Pinkerton' METRO LONDON Warwick Thompson
