“An artist all my life, in 2001 I shifted my focus from commercial art to painting full time. I seek out peaceful settings, simple subjects bathed in soft light - a barn, a cow, a dog, a boat - hints of humankind in the landscape. I watch the day unfold with memories of the past by my side. The California hillsides, the tides of Maine, the long shadows cast early and late in the day are subjects that provide an open invitation to see the extraordinary in each and every day. In the studio I recreate my sense of well being through the process of painting, bringing to the viewer a moment of respite, reflection, or sheer pleasure.”
