After nearly three years since the release of their critically acclaimed self-titled LP, The Listening have returned from their studio underworld with a sample of their latest musical offering. Four new songs, produced by mega-producer Tedd T. (MuteMath, Newsboys, Delirious), showcase a stronger melodic sensibility framed within the familiar dark tones which The Listening have become known for.

These new songs are simply a taste of the vast collection of material in which Wilson and his band of musical mystics have feverishly been crafting for more than two years. Nearly 30 songs are still in the making, with their full-length release slated for 2009. Transmission 1 will be a limited pressing.

Honesty. Love. Loss. Heartbreak. Forgiveness. Redemption.   These are some of the words describing Gabriel Wilson’s debut acoustic solo album titled “Lovely is Death”.   Recorded in the music room of Wilson’s duplex in Astoria, OR, tracks are sullen, intimate, and swollen with emotion and honesty. Fans of Wilson’s musical projects such as “The Listening” and “Rock ‘n’ Roll Worship Circus” will find familiarity with many of the ambient elements of this record. Wilson’s gripping melodies have never sounded this good. Framed by acoustic guitars and given texture with Moog Synths, vintage Vox organs, and analogue delays, “Lovely is Death” captures a moment in time within an artists life, allowing the listener to enter into the depths of Wilson’s soul on the journey from life, to death, and back to life again...
