About Mocra
MOCRA was formed in 1969 to encourage and foster sailing of cruising and racing multihulls, to help improve their seaworthiness and promote their use.
In practise, this translates into the development of the MOCRA rating rule specifically for multihulls and organising MOCRA class entries in UK sailing clubs and premier UK sailing events such as Cowes Week, Burnham Week and the RIR.
MOCRA also organises a number of Multihull cruises throughout the summer months.
It is a voluntary organisation funded by members' subscriptions and rating fees.
Annual membership is just £25 renewable each January which includes a newsletter and calendar subscription - check out the links above for membership forms and the rating rule details.
See ’40 Years of Mocra’ for the history.

Welcome....

I admit I have been a MOCRA Committee member since 1986 when we used to hold meetings in Mike Butterfield's Barrister's chambers, or on Don Pinn's Prout ‘Snowgoose’ in St Katherine's Dock.
The winter has seen some impressive performances from two big trimarans designed by Van Petegham-Prevost, the first was the awesome sight of BMW Oracle at the first America's Cup Match between two multihulls in Valencia.
What an impressive wing sail - towering 238ft above the water to power the black and white tri at speeds up to 33 knots in winds which rarely exceeded
15 knots.......Read More

Calling all East coast Members
Message from Dick Johnson......
Swift has entered already so the rest of you 920s need to be there to give her some competition. There are some nice Musto goodies to win as well as being the first event to count towards the East Coast Championship. It would give good bragging rights in the club bar to say you are the first winner of the Championship.
Nick Wood is off to the Round the Island Race this weekend so best wishes to him and also to Strontium Dog in the Round Britain and Ireland who was a bit late into Crosshaven thanks to having a ripping time with headsails.
We need to welcome a new member to our East Coast Fraternity, David Hinton. He has a Telstar in Dauntless Boatyard and is busy sanding off the layers of paint ready for a refit. Like I did two years ago, he thinks it will take eight weeks to complete. Welcome to the club David.
Hope to see you on the water.
Best wishes

Cowes Week, July 31-August 7
Anyone for Cowes Week?
Enter by the 25th July. At the moment 4 boats are entered which may put the future of multihulls at Cowes Week in jeopardy next year. I have done 3 Cowes Weeks and can highly recommend it. Perhaps just try the first weekend to see if you enjoy it?
