1 Firecrest "I think a male" was spotted foraging low down
in the bushes at the reserve today. I managed this poor photograph . I watched the gorgeous little bird for several minutes and he seemed oblivious to my presence
Also spotted were :
6 Bullfinches ( 4 Females and 2 Males ) again foraging in the bushes - they seemed unusually approachable
1 Female Kestrel hunting over the reserve
1 Female Sparrowhawk again hunting
1 Jay
2 Great Spotted Woodpeckers - some drumming heard
countless Long Tailed Tits
countless Blue Tits
countless Great Tits.

1 Female Blackcap this afternoon feeding on the suet
block in the Buddleia in my back garden.
Three different birds - 2 Males and 1 Female
are visiting now.

George Ewart HOC kindly reports 12 Crossbills at Bircher Common earlier this week.George reports that they were totally silent while they were feeding - and only called when the flock moved.
