Skinny Reads
Like Led Zepplin always said “It’s been a long time, been a long time, been a long long long long time” something like that. Time for 2009 resolutions:
1. Bike Tour. I want to start out with some short weekend trips then at some point do a longer trip like a week or two.
2. Ride a century a month. Once a month ride 100 miles in a day.
3. Ride a double century. Last year it seemed near impossible to ride 100 miles in one day. Accomplishing that goal felt great! This year I think it would be huge if I could ride 200 miles in one day.
4. Skateboard. I started skating again just a couple weeks ago with my brother. My skateboard goal for this year is to learn how to drop in and skate a pool.
5. Dirt Jump. I want to get comfortable on a dirt jump trail and finally be able to jump doubles.
6. Rock climbing. I want to give rock climbing a go this year. I need to do something to exercise my upper body and i think this will be a fun way to do it.
7. Website. Do a better job keeping up with the website.
It seems like most of my goals are bike related, for some reason I don’t want to add more of them to the list. I feel like I have too many already. Who cares, right? these are my goals.
8. Group rides. Last year I joined the Austin Flyers and the Austin Cycling Association. Since then I’ve been on one ACA ride and I regularly made the Thursday night Flyer’s hill ride. This year I‘d like to make more. I’d like to make some weekend rides. I think it would be good to find some riding partners.
9. Tour Das Hugel. Tour Das Hugel is Austin’s big hill ride. It’s 100 miles long with 10 to 14 thousand feet of climbing. Last year I backed out at the last minute. I had some problems with the bike and I wussed out for sure when I saw the weather.
10. Try some new things. I want to become a little more well rounded. I tend to go all out with one thing at a time. It quickly becomes all I can talk about and I think, no I know, I get on people’s nerves. I also think it will help me become more self sufficient.
11. Become more self sufficient. Pretty soon, I’m gonna have to be, I’m not going to have a choice. I can, however, do some things to make it easier on myself.
12. Take care of things. There are a couple of big things I’ve let slide for too long and I’ve got to take care of those things!
