They brainstormed lists of words and phrases that described something important about themselves, including interests, hobbies, favorite things and even names of their pets! Then students edited the font, layout and color scheme of their Wordles. Check out their finished products! And after reading the biography of Milton Hershey, Mrs. Finkle and her language arts class were curious to learn more about the history and manufacturing of chocolate. We started to learn to take notes from an encyclopedia entry and from websites that were all about chocolate, & then plugged in some key highlights of our research into wordles, as you can see below.
